REACH
On June 1, 2007 the new chemicals regulation REACH inside the European Union has come into force. Until the year 2018 approx. 30.000 substances have to be registered, evaluated and authorized in order to further improve the protection of humans, animals, and the environment. This goal is in full agreement with Degussa's fundamental principles on Product Stewardship and Responsible Care.
One cornerstone of REACH is the communication and information alongside the value chain of the substances which requires an intensive and trustful dialogue between the participants of this chain. The gathered information together with the substance-specific data is the basis for the evaluation and the development of recommendations for safe handling and use of the substances in formulations and goods.
We have been preparing us intensively for REACH in our business line Household Care and we would appreciate to working together as partners in gathering all relevant information necessary for the registration and for preparing the chemical safety report.
