Escalating raw material cost drives Care & Surface Specialties to further price increases

Effective January 1, 2008, or as contract terms allow, the business line Household Care of Evonik Industries´ Business Unit Care & Surface Specialties will increase the prices for all products marketed in Europe in the range of 10 %. The increase includes, but is not limited to, esp. the fabric softener raw materials, Esterquats, surfactants, silicone derivatives and specialty additives.

These increases are mandatory due to the continued dramatic increase in raw material cost especially for Oleochemicals. In addition, petrochemicals are already on high level and further expected to increase.
